Silk is regarded as one of the most valuable, luxurious fabrics. It is cultivated from the cocoon of the mulberry silkworm, which spins a single long, continuous thread that we weave into a beautiful first layer. The process is delicate and slow, which is part of why the fabric is so prized.
It is light and temperature regulating, so it reduces the risk of overheating as you move through the day and holds its shape when it is treated well. Its natural elasticity lets it settle back after stretching, and its smooth fibres give it that quiet lustre.
Silk is a natural protein fibre, smooth and quiet to wear. It is the fibre we chose for our underwear, worn closest to the skin.
Care
Hand wash cold or use the silk cycle at 30 degrees, with a pH neutral silk detergent, no enzymes and no bleach. Lay the piece flat on a clean towel and press gently, never twist or wring. Iron low and always from the reverse side.
